PLUS distribution center completed

HVBM Vastgoed and Bruil deliver DC Deventer to PLUS The new distribution center in Deventer is delivered by HBC to PLUS. The distribution center is coming further furnished and filled with thousands of fresh products. At the end of May, the first deliveries will go to the supermarkets.

Tony Vendrig, PLUS Supply Chain Director: “With the opening of this new fresh distribution center, we complete the supply chain integration of PLUS and COOP. We can now get products to customers more efficiently, sustainably and freshly. That’s what we do it for!”

High sustainability requirements Sustainability requirements played an important role in the development of the new distribution center. The building and the surrounding grounds have been designed to be circular and nature-inclusive. Energy is generated with an own solar power installation of over 14,000 solar panels with an installed capacity of 8 MWp, generating over 7 million kWh of solar power annually. For employees, PLUS creates a pleasant and attractive working environment, with plenty of daylight and a nice climate. Thanks to all these efforts, the BREEAM Excellent design certificate was achieved.

Space for subletting Upon completion, not all of the distribution center will be used by PLUS. Therefore, a portion of approximately 15,000 m² of office and logistics warehouse space is offered for subletting.

Björn Bertrand, PLUS Real Estate Director: “DC Deventer is a state-of-the-art distribution center that meets high sustainability requirements. That the construction went so smoothly is a big compliment to our construction and development partner and all subcontractors.”

About DC Deventer The new distribution center will replace the existing distribution center in Deventer. The building is 77,000 m² in size and stands on a plot of over 13 hectares, making it three times the size of the current distribution center. The building will soon house 3,500 unique fresh products, which will be loaded onto trucks through the 142 dock doors and sent to the 280 PLUS and Coop stores that the distribution center supplies.

PLUS’s new fresh distribution center at A1 business park in Deventer is a development by HBC, a collaboration between HVBM Vastgoed and Bruil Bouw Groep.

Adriaan Molenschot, general manager HVBM Vastgoed, said, “We are proud of the result achieved. It is the result of the excellent cooperation between HVBM Vastgoed, Bruil, PLUS, Municipality of Deventer and all construction partners involved. With this circular distribution center, which meets high sustainability requirements, we make a valuable contribution to the ambitions of this beautiful company.”
